Adapting to Regulatory Change Award

This award recognises an outstanding team, programme or initiative that has successfully responded to significant regulatory change and delivered meaningful business outcomes. 

The winning entry will demonstrate how an organisation translated new regulatory requirements into practical, sustainable change while strengthening compliance, governance, risk management or business operations. Judges will look for evidence of effective delivery, stakeholder engagement, innovation and measurable impact.

Eligibility

  • Open to in-house teams, departments or programme groups that have delivered a significant regulatory change initiative.  
  • Entries must focus on a significant regulatory change, reform or development implemented within the last 12-18 months.  
  • Routine business-as-usual regulatory updates do not qualify for this category.  
  • The organisation or project team must be based in or operating within Europe. 
  • Advisory firms, technology providers, outsourced service providers are not eligible.

Criteria

  • Your submission needs to respond to the 3 criteria sections: Spirit, Approach and Outcome.
  • You will be awarded a maximum of 10 points per section (30 points in total).
  • Questions are suggested in each criteria section. These are prompts to help you think about the evidence that will help judges to best assess your entry. You do not need to address all questions, please use them as a guide.
  • The 4th criteria section Validation is optional and is your opportunity to provide supporting documents to further demonstrate to judges why your submission should win. You can submit up to 3 supporting documents.  

 

Spirit: Introduce the regulatory change programme and the context in which it was delivered  

Please include details such as: 

  • The regulatory change, reform or development being addressed 
  • The business, regulatory or operational context 
  • The objectives and intended outcomes of the programme 
  • The scale, complexity or significance of the change 
  • Key risks, constraints or implementation challenges 

 

Approach: Describe how the regulatory change programme was designed, implemented and embedded

Please address some or all of the following:

  • How the programme was governed, managed and delivered 
  • How stakeholders across the organisation were engaged and aligned 
  • How regulatory requirements were translated into practical business change 
  • Any innovative approaches, technologies or methodologies used 
  • How implementation risks, dependencies or challenges were identified and managed 
  • How business adoption and sustainable compliance were achieved 

 

Outcome: Show the value and impact delivered by the initiative

Please include evidence such as:

  • Evidence that the programme met or exceeded its objectives 
  • Improvements in compliance, governance, risk management or operational effectiveness 
  • Successful implementation and embedding of the regulatory change 
  • Quantitative or qualitative measures of success 
  • Benefits delivered to the organisation, customers or other stakeholders 
  • Evidence that outcomes have been sustained and embedded 
  • Any ongoing or future benefits resulting from the programme  
  • Both quantitative and qualitative evidence are welcome.

 

Validation (Optional): Support your entry with any further information to show the judges why this initiative should win

Examples include:

  • Testimonials (100 words maximum each) from business leaders, programme sponsors or key stakeholders 
  • Evidence demonstrating successful implementation and adoption 
  • Metrics relating to compliance, operational or business outcomes 
  • Audit findings, assurance reviews or independent assessments 
  • External recognition, benchmarking or independent validation 
  • You may submit up to three supporting documents for this section.
