Training Initiative of the Year

This award recognises an innovative compliance training initiative that has enhanced knowledge, skills, behaviours or organisational capability. Entries may focus on compliance, ethics, governance, risk or financial crime prevention training delivered to employees, business partners or other relevant audiences. 

Judges will look for creative approaches that challenge traditional learning methods, engage target audiences and deliver measurable impact. This may include new formats, delivery models, technology-enabled learning, industry collaboration or initiatives that support the development of compliance professionals and future talent. 

Eligibility

  • This award is open to in-house compliance and financial crime prevention teams only.  
  • Entries must demonstrate initiatives implemented or active within the last 12-18 months. 
  • The organisation or project team must be based in or operating within Europe. 
  • This award is not open to consultancies or commercial training providers.

Criteria

  • Your submission needs to respond to the 3 criteria sections: Spirit, Approach and Outcome.
  • You will be awarded a maximum of 10 points per section (30 points in total).
  • Questions are suggested in each criteria section. These are prompts to help you think about the evidence that will help judges to best assess your entry. You do not need to address all questions, please use them as a guide.
  • The 4th criteria section Validation is optional and is your opportunity to provide supporting documents to further demonstrate to judges why your submission should win. You can submit up to 3 supporting documents.  

 

Spirit: Introduce the training initiative and explain the context in which it was developed and delivered

Please include information, such as:

  • A summary of the training project or programme, including its scope and target audience 
  • The compliance, regulatory, cultural or strategic challenge that prompted the initiative 
  • The key drivers behind the initiative (eg improving engagement, addressing skill gaps, supporting growth or transformation) 
  • Any specific challenges faced in designing or delivering the training (eg remote delivery, global teams, resistance to change) 

 

Approach: Describe how the training initiative demonstrated innovation, excellence and relevance

Please address some or all of the following:

  • The learning objectives and how the programme was designed to meet them 
  • New skills, behaviours or competencies developed through the initiative 
  • Creative or agile approaches used to overcome challenges or tailor content to different audiences 
  • Use of technology, gamification or blended learning methods to enhance engagement 
  • How the team collaborated with internal or external stakeholders to ensure relevance and impact 
  • How the initiative aligned with broader business or compliance goals

 

Outcome: Demonstrate the impact of the training initiative

Please include information, such as:

  • Evidence of improved knowledge, behaviour or performance among participants
  • Quantitative or qualitative measures of success (eg. completion rates, feedback scores, audit outcomes, reduced incidents)
  • How the initiative contributed to business outcomes, risk reduction or culture change
  • Any long-term benefits or sustainability plans (eg. ongoing learning, embedded practices, scalability)
  • Evidence that learning outcomes translated into behavioural change, improved decision-making or stronger compliance culture

 

Validation (Optional): Support your entry with any further information to show the judges why this initiative should win

Examples include:

  • Short testimonials (100 words maximum each) from participants, business leaders or stakeholders 
  • Training effectiveness reports or learner feedback 
  • Assessment results, participation metrics or completion data 
  • Survey results demonstrating behavioural or cultural impact 
  • Independent reviews, audits or recognition received 
  • You may submit up to three supporting documents for this section.
