FinCrime AI Solution of the Year
This award recognises an AI solution that helps organisations prevent, detect or investigate financial crime. The winning entry will demonstrate how artificial intelligence has strengthened areas such as AML, fraud prevention, sanctions compliance, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence or financial crime investigations. Open to technology providers, advisory firms, regulated businesses and in-house teams, entries must demonstrate innovation, effective implementation and measurable impact.
Judges will look for cutting-edge solutions that address real-world financial crime challenges, deliver demonstrable outcomes and show potential for wider application.
Eligibility
- Open to any organisation, including technology providers, advisory firms, regulated businesses and in-house teams, developing or implementing an AI solution for financial crime prevention.
- Entries must demonstrate activity and impact within the last 12-18 months.
- The solution must have been deployed, tested or used within an organisation operating in Europe.
Criteria
- Your submission needs to respond to the 3 criteria sections: Spirit, Approach and Outcome.
- You will be awarded a maximum of 10 points per section (30 points in total).
- Questions are suggested in each criteria section. These are prompts to help you think about the evidence that will help judges to best assess your entry. You do not need to address all questions, please use them as a guide.
- The 4th criteria section Validation is optional and is your opportunity to provide supporting documents to further demonstrate to judges why your submission should win. You can submit up to 3 supporting documents.
Spirit: Introduce your AI solution and the context in which it was developed or implemented
Please include details such as:
- A clear description of the AI solution, its purpose and how it supports compliance or financial crime prevention
- The business or regulatory environment that shaped its development (eg evolving sanctions regimes, AML requirements, ESG reporting)
- Details of the client relationship or internal team collaboration featured in the case study
- The strategic drivers behind the initiative (eg regulatory change, operational inefficiencies, risk exposure, innovation goals)
Approach: Describe how the solution was implemented and how it reflects innovation and excellence
Please address some or all of the following:
- Core features and functionality of the AI solution and how it was tailored to meet specific compliance needs
- How challenges were addressed during development or implementation (eg data quality, integration, user adoption)
- The collaborative approach taken with clients, internal teams or external partners
- Any standout initiatives or enhancements that demonstrate creativity, agility or leadership
- How the solution was tested, validated and refined to ensure effectiveness
Outcome: Demonstrate the results and impact of the solution
Please include evidence such as:
- Measurable improvements in the detection, prevention or investigation of financial crime
- Increased efficiency, effectiveness or accuracy of compliance or financial crime controls
- Quantitative and/or qualitative results, such as reductions in false positives, faster investigations, improved risk identification or cost savings
- User, client or stakeholder feedback demonstrating value delivered
- Scalability, sustainability or broader organisational benefits arising from the solution
Validation (Optional): Support your entry with any further information to show the judges why this solution should win
Examples may include:
- Client testimonials, feedback summaries or satisfaction metrics
- Performance reports, dashboards or benchmarking data
- Independent assessments, audits or validation of results
- Case studies demonstrating measurable impact
- External recognition (e.g. awards, media coverage or regulator feedback)
