AI governance for wealth & asset management:
From AI adoption to effective oversight

An invitation-only in-person masterclass hosted by ICA & Zango

14 September 2026 | 3PM - 6PM | DoubleTree by Hilton London – Tower of London

Summary

As AI adoption accelerates across wealth and asset management, firms face a growing challenge: how to unlock the benefits of AI while maintaining effective oversight, regulatory compliance and accountability. This is complicated by a sector where much of that AI capability sits with third-party platforms and data providers rather than
in-house systems.

From investment research and client communications to compliance monitoring and regulatory change management, AI is becoming embedded across organisations at an unprecedented pace. Yet many firms are still grappling with a fundamental question: what does good AI governance actually look like in practice, particularly when the technology itself is not entirely their own?

At the same time, regulators are signalling that firms should not expect a standalone AI rulebook. Instead, they are expected to demonstrate how existing regulatory obligations apply to AI systems, while helping to shape industry standards for responsible adoption.

In this ICA Masterclass, delivered in partnership with Zango, senior compliance leaders and practitioners will explore a series of practical case studies to understand how firms are governing AI at scale. It will consider latest regulatory developments, and insights from new AI governance research.

Through expert insight, practitioner-led discussion and interactive roundtables, attendees will gain practical approaches to strengthening oversight, establishing accountability and enabling safe, responsible AI adoption across their organisations.

Key learning points

  • Establishing governance frameworks and accountability models.
  • Supporting business-wide adoption while maintaining effective oversight.
  • Adapting the Three Lines of Defence for an AI-enabled operating environment.
  • Managing AI risk where capability sits with third parties, including suitability and best execution where AI touches advice or reporting.
  • Defining industry standards for responsible AI deployment before regulators prescribe them.
